The ‘Sonorium Dome’ is the world's largest sound healing dome - the acoustic centrepiece of Tulah Clinical Wellness, a sanctuary that unites ancient Ayurvedic wisdom with the diagnostic tools of modern medicine. Dedicated entirely to sound-based therapy, the dome houses a curated catalogue of instruments drawn from Svaram's research and development in psycho-acoustic healing. Our involvement was twofold: engineering the acoustic properties of the dome itself, and crafting bespoke versions of these instruments to live within it. Both demanded the same guiding principle — that every element of the space, seen and heard, must serve the therapeutic experience with uncompromising precision.
Conventional acoustics work to neutralise a room — flattening its character into a balanced, neutral field. The Sonorium required the inverse. Drawing inspiration from the principles luthiers use to coax specific resonances from wood and form, we developed an approach to spatial acoustics that amplifies the precise frequencies produced by Svaram's healing instruments, rather than suppressing them. Working in tandem with the main architecture team, we ran simulated acoustic data across the 3D model — generating EQ graphs, reading the frequency response of the space, and iteratively adjusting its proportions until the dome's geometry itself became an instrument. The result is a room with a deliberate sonic fingerprint: one tuned, not treated.
The Sonorium system is built around specific instruments developed for therapeutic sound healing spaces. Rather than sourcing standard editions, each piece placed within the dome was customised specifically for this project — calibrated to perform within its unique acoustic environment and crafted to reflect the premium visual identity and broader vision of Tulah. Where standard healing instruments prioritise function alone, these balance sonic integrity with material and aesthetic refinement, befitting a sanctuary that holds both ancient wisdom and contemporary excellence to the same standard.
